Tator Tot Casserole Supreme {Recipe}

I'm not about to impress you with beautiful images of food or blow you away with impressive culinary skills in this post, I just thought I would share our version of Tator Tot Casserole that is a big hit in our house. This is a quick and easy meal that pleases picky little eaters as well as men that don't typically like casseroles. There are many versions out there but I think adding the ranch mix and french fried onions sets this one apart and makes it delicious!

Ingredients:
1-1.5 lbs ground beef
1 cup of evaporated milk
1 can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
32 ounce pkg of frozen tator tots
2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
1 pkg of ranch mix
1 tsp Natures Seasoning or any all purpose seasoning you have available
1/4-1/2 cup of french fried onions

Ground the beef and drain

Add the can of Cream of Mushroom Soup

Add 1 cup of Evaporated milk

Add either 1 pkg of Ranch mix or 3 TBSP if you buy it in bulk

I add this to everything!

Pour about half of the frozen tator tots in the bottom of a casserole dish.

Spread half of the beef mixture over it.

Sprinkle about 1/2 cup of cheese

Add the remainder of the tator tots

And spread the remainder of the beef mixture over the tots. I just want to say "tots" every time. It takes me back to the days of quoting everything from Napoleon Dynamite.

Now spread the rest of the cheese on top of the casserole and then sprinkle the french fried onions on top to finish it off. Place foil over the dish and back at 375 for 30 minutes. Take the foil off and place back in the oven for about 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and casserole is bubbling.

There you have it! Something quick, easy and yummy!

  2. I see a giant jar of hidden Valley ranch. I have never seen tht before, only seen it in packets. I must make a combat cuisine cookbook! We cook with things we steal from the dining facility or order online.

    1. You can get those big jars at either wal-mart or SAMS. I'm sure that's not available to you but maybe you could order it online?
