Cows and Carousel Rides

How was your weekend? Ours was packed full of fun stuff. Thursday night Matt and I talked about going to Chick-fil-a's "dress like a cow and get a meal for free" event until we read further and saw that you had to dress head to hoof like a cow. I knew I couldn't pull the whole shebang off for all four of us so we didn't make any plans to go. Then Friday morning my friend Ashley posted pics on Instagram of her sweet fam at CFA that morning in cow print attire and I got the bug to make it happen. I texted her and she told me I didn't have to be in a cow mascot outfit so that's when I knew we were going to make it happen. During nap time I ironed on some heat n' bond black fabric to white shirts, made some ears for the kids and hoofs for Little Miss and we went for it. We met up with my sister in Katy and got four free meals AND ice cream for free! Little Miss was in love with the cow mascot dude walking around so he came over and gave us plenty of attention the whole evening.

I love the old man pants look  he's sporting in this pic.

Never mind the ears on his head he's all about the grub.

Saturday morning we got to spend our time with friends at Birthday parties. Our local park has a carousel that can be rented for parties, it's the way to go if you ask me. Little Miss rode the carousel the entire time we were there. She took a brief break for cake and then was back at it. Bubby wasn't sure how he felt about it at first and then he warmed up to it.

It was a good one! I'm looking forward to this week as it's the last full week before Matt has to return to his coaching duties. Also, Little Miss is going on her first overnight trip. I'm a little nervous but mostly excited for her. I know she will do great, it's me I'm worried about. Do y'all have any tips for things to pack/do for a three year olds first night away from home? She will be at my sisters house that's familiar to her but I want to be sure and cover all areas. I'm planning on sending her with her teddy bear but thought I'd ask for your opinion. Hope y'all are having a good day!

    1. You need to "like" them on Facebook and you will see all kinds of events and offers. I think you may even be able to "like" a specific location.

  3. I felt the same way when I left my 2 and 4 year old kids overnight with my sister recently. They fussed for two or three days afterwards that my husband and I came back from our trip too soon. I did send their own pillows and blankets for a familiar smell/feel, along with special stuffed animal of course. We use a sound machine at night, but my sis has the same one. Otherwise I would have sent that.
