This just happened

Daddy came home to grab lunch on game-day which always means he needs it wrapped up to-go because once he leaves the house he has to go pick up the bus then hurry back to school. Well, today he decided to change the order of events and go pick up the bus first and then come home to grab lunch. When the littles saw the yellow bus in their backyard they were as happy as could be. It's so cute how this lights up their world and makes them feel so special.

It was so exciting that even Nellie snuck out the gate to join us.

When Daddy fired up the engine and took us for a spin around the parking lot it was the icing on the cake.

Then it was time for him to leave and for us to go inside and get ready for naps. Little Miss requested a bubble bath and I thought it was a great idea and one less thing for me to do tonight while I'm solo. Tonight is the last game of the freshman season. Whew! Now just Varsity and then come Tuesday we will be in Basketball season. I'm ready for the change and excited about Basketball this year.

Oh and in case you're wondering.... yes, my daughter is wearing a princess pajama dress with a tutu and flip flops. Gone are the days of being in control of her cute outfits. I think it's good that she likes to dress herself but sometimes I'm vain and struggle when we are in public that she isn't in a well put together outfit. I'm always learning new ways that the Lord is refining me through my children.

  1. Such a cute post! We actually live in the Bryan/College Station area so pretty close! My husband drives buses for Bryan ISD so the school bus felt relatable! :)

  2. How fun!

And, my girls love to dress themselves too. I used to struggle with the going out in public thing too, but if you ever come over and check out my pictures, you will see I have let go of that - ha! :)

  3. I'm not sure what the attraction is but kids always love a bus. I love the fact that this will be one of those fun memories they will take with them throughout life.Love Nonnie

  4. So cute! And yes, we are starting to get into the "I-wanna-dress-myself-even-if-I-look-like-a-homeless-child" phase, too. Good times :)

  5. Ewan loves school buses, too! He'd be more excited to meet a school bus driver than an astronaut at this age. How sweet for Daddy to be such a hero!

  6. I love the tutu and flip flops! My son has decided he wants to be the one in charge of deciding what he wears: he comes up with some interesting combos, to be sure. This too shall pass!
