This past weekend we were hanging out in the backyard when I discovered some blackberry-like fruit all over the ground, I took a closer look and saw that they had all fallen from a tree that had an abundance of berries just hanging from the limbs. I put one in my mouth and tasted the sweetness that was like a blackberry and then I came in and googled blackberry on a tree and found that it is that of a fruiting mulberry. I love this time of year because of all the fruit growing wild and I have been anticipating my dewberry outings but not looking forward to crawling through prickly vines and snake havens so to find not only a tree where they hang but in my backyard (and partially in my neighbors backyard :)) I was so excited!

This was Arabelle's first time down on the ground in the backyard without a blanket, we decided to take her clothes off and let her help in the gathering fun and boy did she love it. It didn't take long for her to stop putting them in the basket and taking them straight to her mouth...I found the same problem with Matt.Now that I think of it Nellie was eating them too.....maybe I will go without my "help" next time.
