Morning Activity

I love the month of February. I love the unpredictable weather, a house filled with pink and red Valentines decorations and of course my Birthday. We worked on some crafts the other day that kind of go along with the Valentines theme.

Not much else going on over here. Our mornings have been slow and uneventful. I like it that way however, I had high expectations of setting aside a learning time with Little Miss during Bubby's first nap and each morning that time slot gets away from me. I just need to get organized and plan out the activities at night and in advance but my night time gets away from me to. Arghh. Do any of you super moms have planning/scheduling/activity advice to share?

  1. You're doing fine, Lil Mama. Those babies are learning all day long. I understand your desire to actually schedule a time for it though. Did you get Bubby's hand prints too? These are things you will love to have in the years ahead. Love, Nonnie

  2. I love the Valentine craft created with her hands! My advice...read, read, read as much as you can with your children! Good, wholesome books. That is one of the most precious gifts you can give them. Training them in the way they should go (in the way of the Lord) is SO important! Everything else will follow in place beautifully when you have their heart. Don't rush the learning thing...it will come in due time! God bless. Enjoy those babies!

  3. I have to agree with the other 2 mamas that already posted. Allowing her to be a part of your day is already teaching her so much! And any extra time can be used reading! No better gift than that! You are doing a great job with those two biddies.

  4. I can relate. Time gets away from me, too. Life is about love, though, not accomplishments (no matter how fun or cute or creative they are). Time with your babies is time well spent :-)

  5. I whole-heartedly agree with the comments above. It's funny, I would give similar advice to you and other mommas, but sometimes that can be hard to follow for myself. So, knowing that I too crave structured activities at times, some that work well for Little Miss E & me when her baby sister is sleeping include: discussing the calendar (adding the number for that particular day to the monthly calendar); discussing the weather & identifying whether it's sunny, or cloudy, etc. (this might be one of her favorite things); spelling her name (first I made up a song, then after she knew how to spell it, we practiced writing it); which led to her next favorite activity: tracing letters. Last week, I picked up a preschool "workbook" at Target for 5 bucks that has similar activities and I liked that when in doubt, I can just grab the book. Best of luck!

  6. Love it Robyn! I just posted on my blog about valentines crafts too. I do not have any scheduled learning timr with J especially since Isabel is transitioning out of her morning nap, but if i figure one out I'll let you know. I think all the other advice is great.
