CS: The official Certified Site is a fenced and mown area designated for up to 5 caravans or motorhomes, and 10 tents. Camping & Caravan Club members will get priority. There is hard standing parking adjacent. Over the fence are the donkeys and the area slopes slightly to the South and the lake. There is a water point, CDP and a portaloo and shower as temporary basic facilities. All prices on the second page.
LAKESIDE: Up to 8 tent pitches are available around the lake for standard sized tents and these are for adults only. Space is left clear for fishing.
TERRACE: Adjacent to the upper woodland, the grassed terrace clearing offers up to 15 tent pitches with views across the fields to the lake. There is mains water, a temporary portaloo and parking.
WOODLAND: Upper woodland offers tent camping amongst the trees; it is adjacent to the terraces with basic facilities. It is accessed from the North entrance (please see map).
PRE-ERECTED TENTS: We have a few bell tents for hire as pre-erected units from £25 per night. They are pitched on the terrace site and have outside seating and a firepit. The tent is up, but empty apart from a groundsheet, so campers bring all their own needs otherwise. Good for short breaks and late evening arrivals.
LOVEABELL TENTS: Fully furnished and equipped luxury bell tents on the terrace. Pre-erected. Please contact Claire to book these: www.loveabell.co.uk
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE: Arrival after 3pm and before 7pm if at all possible. Departure by 2pm. Extra time onsite during the day is possible subject to availability.
NOISE: Please keep conversations (in tents) and vehicle movements to an absolute minimum between 11pm and 7am.
FISHING: Coarse fishing is free to campers, but you must ensure any children going to visit the lake are kept very quiet and respect the peace of the area.
POOL: The heated indoor swimming pool is available for private hire. There are also hot showers in the pool changing area (swimmers only). The rate is £20 for an hour, for your group’s exclusive use. Sorry, not suitable for older children wishing to jump and bomb. Please ask for availability on arrival.
DOGS & WALKING: We are very happy you bring your well-behaved pet. There are lots of good walks straight from the campsite and even if you end up in the village, the Royal Oak is dog-friendly. Please just ensure your dog is kept on a lead on the site, you clear up afterwards ensure and he/she is quiet overnight.
FIRES: Each pitch has a firepit, which are great for cooking. Firewood can be collected for free from either the Upper or Oxbottom Lane woods. If the weather is very dry, please check first and be sensible with an open fire.
