Warm Mixed Nuts with Rosemary {Recipe}

Today I'm sharing one of my favorite winter snacks/gifts with you guys. During a season of lots of sweets this is often a welcomed gift. Make no mistake,  I am not one of those people that get overloaded with dessert. I just don't think God wired me that way....I could eat dessert after every meal and never tire of it. But I know many people that throw away desserts during this time of year (gasp) because they have had too much. This would make a great gift for Christmas and is the perfect alternative for the non-sweet tooth or just anybody really;)

What you will need:
5 cups of mixed nuts
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons of butter
1 tsp granulated onion
3 tsp granulated garlic
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1/4 cup of minced fresh rosemary
 * when making for gifts I usually double the recipe

Mix all of the seasonings together, including the minced fresh rosemary.

 Melt butter in a mixing bowl, then add the olive oil. Combine all of the nuts in the oil/butter mixture and make sure it is evenly coated. Once it's coated add the seasoning mixture and stir until evenly coated.

 Package it up any way you like. I prefer to package it in a mason jar with a note describing the warming instructions. "Store in a cool and dry place until ready to serve. Once ready to serve warm the oven to 350 and bake on a sheet for 8-10 minutes, serve warm."

Let me know if you try it!

  5. Cute idea! I love how you've styled the finished product. I was just thinking the same thing... trying to come up with non-dessert hostess gifts. I absolutely love anything sweet, but realize that not everyone has the same taste buds! I came up with holiday granola:)
