{Carousel Rides}

Last week I was preparing for the first football game night and got the kids bathed and fed by 6:00pm so we could go watch a little bit of the game and come home and have a smooth bedtime. I went out to the car and realized my stroller tires were flat....yet again (because of the heat). I didn't see how I could manage both of them at the game and through the busy field of a parking lot without a stroller but I was determined to get out of the house and do something fun before the end of the night.
My friend Amanda called me and invited us to join them at the local park to ride the carousel as it was free that night. We loaded up the car, headed to the park and Little Miss was in HEAVEN. She has this game face she puts on when she's really, really excited about something and she was wearing it the whole time we were there. We must have rode that thing for an hour. That night when I went to bed I was still spinning.

It was one of the best evenings we have had in a long time. I can't totally explain why it was perfect but it was. I felt a little guilty about not making it to the first home game and then my husband encouraged me that taking her to ride the carousel was much more important than seeing him at the game for 15 minutes. Sometimes I feel like I need to do it all and this was one of those nights that reminded me how smooth things go when I don't overdo it.
